Advanced Nitrox Diver

Class Duration: 22 hrs over a 1 week duration (equally divided between theory and in water application) Unit Specific Certification.

The TDI Advanced Nitrox Course qualifies divers to use enriched air nitrox from EAN 21 through EAN 100 within your current certification level to a maximum depth of 40 meters/130 feet during dives that do not require staged decompression. Often taught in conjunction with the TDI Decompression Procedures course, this can be considered the foundation of your technical diving career. Advanced Nitrox is also a great course for those wanting to extend their bottom times in shallower depths such as scientific diver, and a must for SCR or CCR divers. The course covered topics

•Equipment requirements

•Dive planning

•Oxygen tracking

•Blending methods

You will use the TDI Advanced Nitrox Diving manual for your course, which explains in an easy to understand practical manner the complex information that Advanced Nitrox divers need to know. Pre: minimum age of 18; Nitrox Diver, or equivalent; 25 logged open water dives. Be in good physical condition for diving and submit an approved medical exam form for diving -medical examination conducted within the past year, and successfully complete a pre assessment of knowledge and skill.

Rebreather Diver Certification

Class Duration: 44 hrs over a 2 week duration (equally divided between theory and in water application) Unit Specific Certification.

The Air Diluent Closed Circuit Diver Course (certification depends on unit/electronics used) is your first step into closed circuit rebreather diving (CCR Diving) and your first truly quiet diving experience. Using the latest in technology CCR’s maximize your gas supply of Nitrox and provide the optimum breathing gas for any depth by maintaining a constant partial pressure of oxygen (PPO2). During the dives (minimum of seven) your Instructor will teach you all the necessary skills to conduct CCR dives to a maximum depth of 30 m/100 feet. The skills for this CCR Diving Course include:

  • Setup and maintenance of the unit
  • Loop volume management
  • Calibration of electronics
  • Emergency procedures
  • Buoyancy control
  • CNS tracking

The individual CCR manuals provide comprehensive information about the units and how they operate during a dive.

Tuition $1800

Air Diluent Closed Circuit Rebreather Decompression Procedures Diver Course

Class Duration: 22 hrs over a 1 week duration (equally divided between theory and in water application) Unit Specific Certification.

The Air Diluent Closed Circuit Decompression Procedures Diver Course (certification depends on the unit used during training) is the second level certification course for divers wishing to utilize a closed circuit rebreather (CCR) for air diving. The objective of the course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving a CCR and to develop basic CCR diving skills to a maximum depth of 45 meters / 150 feet using an air diluent for formal decompression diving.

  • Setup and maintenance of the unit
  • Loop volume management
  • Calibration of electronics
  • Emergency procedures
  • Buoyancy control
  • CNS tracking

The individual CCR manuals provide comprehensive information about the units and how they operate during a dive.  Prerequisite: minimum age of 18; Advanced Nitrox Diver, or equivalent; 50 logged dives; Air Diluent CCR Diver, or equivalent. Be in good physical condition for diving and submit an approved medical exam form for diving -medical examination conducted within the past year, and successfully complete a pre assessment of knowledge and skill.

Tuition: $1800

Required Equipment:

The following equipment is required for each student:

  1. A complete closed circuit rebreather
  2. Minimum of 1 CCR dive computer, or bottom timer and depth gauge
  3. Mask, fins and a suitable line-cutting device
  4. Slate and pencil
  5. Reel with a minimum of 40 meters / 130 feet of line
  6. Lift-bag / delayed surface marker buoy (DSMB) with a minimum of 12 kg / 25 lbs lift
  7. Exposure suit appropriate for the open water environment where training will be conducted
  8. Access to an oxygen analyzer
  9. Appropriate weight
  10. Bailout gas supply (and an externally carried redundant air source).

Decompression Procedures Diver

Class Duration: 22 hrs over a 1 week duration (equally divided between theory and in water application) Unit Specific Certification.

As sport divers planned decompression is not something that we do or have been taught. The Decompression Procedures course prepares you for planned staged decompression diving. With a maximum operating depth of 45m/150 feet, this course is your first step beyond the normal sport diving limits. Your TDI Instructor will provide you with valuable information and skills, among the topics covered are…

•Kit set-up

•Equipment requirements

•Decompression techniques

•Decompression breathing gases

•Gas management

•Contingency planning

•Problem solving procedures

The Decompression Procedures course combined with the Advanced Nitrox course form the foundation of all other technical courses.  After these two courses and some additional experience, the stage has been set for you to move onto additional technical levels.

Prerequisite: minimum age of 18; Advanced Nitrox Diver, or equivalent. Be in good physical condition for diving and submit an approved medical exam form for diving -medical examination conducted within the past year, and successfully complete a pre assessment of knowledge and skill.
